Can you find out what a continent is? Can you name and locate the world's 7 continents? Use the suggestions and resources in the links below to help with your research then complete the challenge. N.B. You do not need to do all of the suggested activities below - choose the ones that work best for you!
Research suggestions:
- Watch the Oak Academy lesson titled 'What is a continent?'. You will need paper and a pencil to join in the learning.
- Use the powerpoint to find out about the continents of the world. Click on the sound icons to hear the information being read.
- Watch the BBC bitesize videos exploring the 7 continents and take the online quiz to test your knowledge.
- Use a globe or an atlas you have at home to find the 7 continents
- Explore the continents using Google Earth
- Logon to Purple Mash and complete the 2Do - World continents quiz
Challenge: Use the worksheet provided to label all of the continents in the world. Can you colour them in?
Spicy challenge: Create your own map of the world using a paper plate or balloon and adding the continents (see picture below).
