Maths Resources and Activities
Here are some great activities you can explore, investigate and play with that are suitable for all children in our school to help them explore maths at home.
Some of the resources are free apps which you can download onto iPads, Android or Google devices or use the web version, whilst others are activity sheets that you can have a go at home.
Have fun exploring maths!
NumBots
Faringdon Infant School has subscribed to the NumBots website. This provides access to every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to fun games and challenges that enable them to practise their maths skills and knowledge. As the children progress they get 'coins' that they collect and then they can use these to upgrade parts of their robot character in the game.
Your child should hopefully have received their own username and password so that they can access this fantastic resource. If there are any problems, please contact your child's class teacher.

Practical Maths Resources and Apps
Sometimes in maths you may hear your child or teacher talking about things like ten frames, dienes (sometimes called base 10) bar models, number lines and other resources. We know you won't necessarily have these resources at home to use but that is okay. Maths is a practical subject where children can use a variety of objects as counters or counting apparatus such as buttons, raisins, Smarties, grapes and many more. They can also draw pictures to help them represent problems. These are all things we do in school too. Here are just a few pictures giving ideas of things you can use from around the home but there are so many other objects you can use beyond these to help you support your child's maths work.
