Monday

To use the part-whole model to represent tens and ones.

Activity: There are 3 challenges for you to choose from. Choose the one that you think will challenge your learning or complete more than one. 

Once you have completed a challenge, you could have a go at the 'Mastery' challenge.

Use the power point below to practice representing numbers to 50.

 

Activity: Choose one of the 3 challenges.

Challenge 1: Match numbers to 'tens and ones' statements and tens frames.

Challenge 2: Match numbers to 'tens and ones' statements, tens frames and straws.

Challenge 3:Match numbers to 'tens and ones' statements, tens frames, straws and number as a word.

 

Once you have completed a challenge, you can have a go at the'Master' challenge.

Wednesday

To represent number to 50.

 

Today you are still going to be learning about representing numbers to 50. Use the power point to support your learning and understanding.

Look at the part whole model, do you know the parts or whole number? Throughout the power point presentation, think about how many tens and ones there. What whole number do these parts make? 

 

Activity: Below you will find 3 challenges and an extra challenge to have a go at.

 

Challenge 1: Complete the table filling in the missing number, tens and ones or ten frames representation.

Challenge 2: As above, as well as base 10 representation.

Challenge 3: As above, including words for numbers shown.

Thursday

To find one more and one less within numbers to 50.

Use the power point below to support your learning and understanding of one more and one less. Remember finding one more is like adding one, Finding one less is like taking one away.

 

Activity: There are 3 challenges and an extra challenge for you to complete. You can chooses to complete 1, 2 or all 3 of the challenges but make sure to have a go.

 

Challenge 1: Complete the sentences to find one more and one less than the number in the pictures give.

Challenge 2: As above.

Challenge 3: As above, as well as finding one more and one less on a number track.

 

Extra challenge: A mixture of questions to find one more and one less.

Today we will continue to learn about finding one more and one less than a given number within 50.

Use the power point below to practice finding one more and one less than a number. Today we will be learning how when we find one more or one less than a number the ones change, however finding one less with numbers like 20, the tens and the ones will change!

 

Activity: 

Challenge 1 and 2: Using a number line or number trash to find one more and one less than a given number.

Challenge 3: As above. Fill in the table to give one more and one less than the number.
