Seasides and Shipwrecks
Geography focus - learning about the geography of the UK, including the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom and their capital cities, using maps and atlases to find these (including Google Earth), understanding the difference between country, city, town and seaside, locating seaside towns
History focus - learning what is meant by 'history' and 'the past', chronological order and timelines, comparing our own lives to those in the past, specific focus on the event 'the sinking of the Titanic'.
Science focus - materials; distinguishing objects and the materials they are made from, sorting objects by their properties, describing the properties of materials e.g. hard, soft, flexible, transparent, waterproof etc.
